Our NEW Needles Seminar course schedule has been developed to cover all of the skills and knowledge needed to manage your Needles database. This year we are offering a series of classes that will focus on specific areas of the Needles program. Each course will be offered only once during the calendar year. In the past, we offered a seminar titled Beyond the Basics. The class covered a wide range of topics in a broad overview fashion. We have decided to split the Beyond the Basics agenda into 4 separate classes. Each course will explore a specific area in depth and offer ample time for discussion and hands on learning. You are welcome to attend the seminars that address your immediate needs, or you can attend every one as a stepping stone toward “Graduation”. If you successfully complete every course, you will graduate and qualify as a Certified Needles Manager!
If you are responsible for your firm’s Needles program, we recommend that you attend as many as possible. As location details are finalized, the information will be updated. Please register ASAP as many of our previous seminars have been sold out, and we anticipate this year will be no exception! After receiving your registration, we will forward an invoice to you. Due to the high demand for our seminars, registration alone does not secure your spot in the class. Payment of the invoice will guarantee your attendance.
If your goal is to graduate as a Certified Needles Manager you will need to complete every course and successfully complete a seminar skill assessment. If you have specific work experience in a particular area or you have already attended a previous Needles seminar on a topic, you may qualify for a “credit”, so please call Liz Teixeira to discuss your qualifications. Our goal is to train, develop and qualify your Needles knowledge.

Description: This session will focus on the advanced skills that will take your use of the Needles program to the next level. We will review Needles most popular features and functions. This 2 day class is perfect for a user with basic data entry experience and is a great foundation for the following seminars. Topics will include:
- Most effective way to locate information in the Needles manual
- The automatic document naming function
- The Send-to feature
- Manipulating your case checklist
- Scanning
- Top 10 features and functions of Needles
- Setting filters for standard reports
- Searching your database with power and accuracy

- Creating/modifying mini directories

Description: This 3 day session will focus on the interface between Needles and Microsoft Word. We will discuss the relationship between your word processor and Needles, teach you how to identify the appropriate information in your cases, and show you how to merge codes to manipulate the data to customize your correspondence. This 3 day class is perfect for individuals who are responsible for creating and/or modifying your firm's merge documents. Topics will include:
- Setting the Needles merge parameters
- Preparing Word for creating merge documents
- Creating merge coding to address: proper pronouns, various date format options, if/then statements, fill in commands
